Safari in Yala national park

Yala is the second biggest national park in the Sri Lanka and the size is around 979 Square Kilometers. Yala is one of the famous Safari parks in the world and became one of the main tourist attractions in Sri Lanka.It is located in the South East part of the country and around 265 Km away from the Colombo City. Yala national park is consisting of 5 Blocks and Block-01 is famous for the Safaris. Sri Lankan Leopard (panthera pardus kotiya) is the most prominent animal in the Yala and it records the highest leopard density in the World which is around 40-60 in the Block-01. Yala national park is open for the Public from 6.00 am to 12.00 noon (morning safari) and 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm (afternoon safari).

Safari in Udawalawa national park

Udawalawa National park is located around 170 Km away from the Colombo city and It’s famous for the Elephant Safaris. Area of the Park is around 308 Square Kilometers and around 300 elephants reside in the park. It is not rare to see this gentle giants roaming around the safari park. Udawalawa national park is open for the Public from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm.The Elephant Transit Home is a separate place from the national park and it was established to rehabilitate the orphaned elephant calves for ultimate release back to the wild. The Elephant Transit Home has around 100 of Baby elephants and you may enjoy the milk feeding events at 10.30 am, 2.00 pm and 6.00 pm every day.

Safari in Wilpattu national park

Wilpattu national park is the biggest national park of the Sri Lanka with an area of 1317 square kilometers and located in the north western part of the country and around 210 Km away from the Colombo city. Wilpattu is renowned for its Leopard population. Sri Lankan elephants (Elepas maximus maximus) and Sloth Bears increase the beauty of the Wilpattu Safari park. Wilpattu national park is open for the Safaris from 6.00 am to 12.00 noon (morning safari) and 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm (afternoon safari).

Safari in Minneriya/ Kaudulla national park

Minneriya national park is located in the north central part of the country and around 180 Km away from the Colombo city. Both the Minneriya and Kaudulla national parks are located in the same area and both are famous for the Elephant Safaris. Minneriya is the place where you can see the largest gathering of the Asian Elephants in the World. July to October is the best time of the year to visit Minneriya or Kaudulla national parks, where you can see around 300 of elephants are roaming freely.
